SNAM

For the past few months I've been working on a 2014 calendar for Italian gas company SNAM. I had to produce 13 images for them (12 months and a cover), each image depicting a different aspect of their business, process or company values. 

You'll have to wait until the end of January to see the full images and the printed calendar, but in the meantime they've started putting a few bits and bobs up on their website...

A much overdue update...

Exciting news! I had my very first big proper commission a couple of months ago so I've been a very busy bee trying to get everything all done. I'll be able to share it with you all at the end of January. In the meantime, here's another Hong Kong map commission I've been working on...

Taiwan

Some of my work is off on a Taiwanese adventure! The team at ILL UK Illustration Lab in Taiwan are selling some of my bits and pieces in their shop! I met up with the lovely Wanying Hsu on London's Southbank for an interview and a good chat about the wonderful world of illustration. Expect to hear more soon!

Barcelona

Here are the colour sheets for my latest map print. I've chosen the city of Barcelona, a city I visited for the first time this summer and utterly fell in love with. This will be a three colour A3 print on A2 paper. Fingers crossed most (if not all) of it will be printed tomorrow so watch this space!

Nurant Magazine Issue 13

This issue of the magazine was focused around the novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury; the brief requiring me to devise my own solution to the destruction of the world's books. Nurant Magazine Exhibition

The past few weeks I've been working on 3 images to appear in Issue 13 of Nurant Magazine. The team at the magazine are hosting an exhibition at their studio in Milan on 4th July where one of my illustrations (bottom) will be on display! If anyone just so happens to be in the vicinity then please pop by! See the poster below for more details...

New Works in Progress

Here's a glimpse of a couple of new pieces I'm currently working on. Number 3 will follow shortly.

Five, Six and Seven

Here are the final three colours of my print all finished. Now I just need to make sure all the colours are sorted and ready to send to the printers. I'll post up a pic of the finished cards when they arrive.

Colours One to Four

The first four colours of my garden print are all finished. Only three more to go!

Garden Cards

I'm currently designing some correspondence cards for a private commission. The client wanted the design to be based on a photograph of their garden. Here's the black and white line version along with a quick roughed up colour version. The final image will be a 7 colour screen print.

Anorak Magazine Competition

This is a piece I've entered into a competition for Anorak magazine. The brief was to devise a 'fun' game to be including in the magazine. I chose to great a maze game which I created as a screen print, before scanning in it and adding the text digitally.

Hong Kong

My Hong Kong map is finished! I've had numerous problems with the exposure on this piece but finally got it all sorted and I'm pretty pleased with how it's come out. I'll be posting it off to a very happy client tomorrow!

Let's run away with the circus...

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! 

I hope everyone's feeling suitably refreshed after Christmas and New Year. Anyway, here's a work in progress - an almost there thumbnail of the next piece I'm working on. Again, it's based around the circus theme, but this time I wanted to play around with typography and poster design. The bottom half still needs some more work but it's getting there. I'm going to produce this initially as a digital piece using scanned screen print textures but I'll more than likely do an original print version at some point in the future.
