Print room
Today I screen printed some stencils for my One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest cover. This will need text adding to it and finishing off on photoshop. I also printed another lino portrait for my negotiated project, this time of Lucky Hans. I want to make some more bottle labels for different products relating to different stories; for Hans I think I might make some bottled luck...

Penguin Design Award
Cover ideas for 'One flew over the cuckoos nest'. I've decided on the one below which I'm going to create using a screen print stencil. It'll be 1 colour (blue- shade not yet decided) plus the white of the background paper.
My chosen design. Missing spine info, front cover quote and blurb etc from the back. The back blurb will appear within the head shape.

More London
I've decided to alter the concept behind my AOI competition entry. Rather than looking at abandoned tube stations (which is a little bit dull) I've decided to look at bizarre things which have be lost and found on the underground. I'm keeping the overall look of the piece the same, just replacing the names of individual tube stations with the name of the objects. A picture of each object will then sit in the tube sign circle.
Here are a few additional examples to the lost items I'm including in my map poster for your amusement (these aren't quite so family friendly...)
1x pair of breast implants
numerous gimp masks
1x home vasectomy kit
1x broken crack pipe

Secret London
This is my entry (in progress) for this years AOI competition with Serco and TFL. The theme is 'Secret London', so I decided to focus on the abandoned tube stations within the city. I wanted to create a map based piece which featured typography as they're great fun to draw. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to make it yet (probably some sort of digital collage) or what colour palette to use, but I'm getting there...

Salad Cream
My entry for this years YCN Heinz salad cream brief. I'm not quite sure what to do with it- I think it needs more work. Any input welcome!

Treasure!
I've very kindly been given all these wonderful old bottles by the very lovely Angharad King. They need a good scrub but would look great as a collection and continuation of my work with the Good Man.

D&AD
Here is my (almost finished) entry for the D&AD. This years illustration brief required me to design the front cover for Little White Lies film magazine. The cover had to be based around one of the films listed within the brief and had to include a portrait of the main character and title of the film. I chose to illustrate The Tree of Life starring Brad Pitt. I created the entire piece out of two separate lino prints (one of the background and one of the portrait); I wanted to create something very stylised, focussing on my use of flat pattern. The film itself explores the themes of evolution and more prominently the creation of the universe and balance of life, therefore I based the background around a series of rings encircling the portrait. These relate not only to the rings within a tree but also perhaps the routes of orbiting planets within the solar system. There are still a couple of things I need to sort out (i'm a little unsure of the text- it doesn't seem very considered) any thoughts would be much appreciated!
This is the image minus the magazine logo...apparently complete designs can't be disclosed until the winners have been shortlisted. The logo is positioned just above Brad Pitts head.
